Every #vote counts but… #Elections2016

Every vote does count in truly representing the choice of the people. But voting one way just to defeat a candidate you do not approve of simply isn’t right. That is not what elections in a democracy are about.

Whether it is USA or India or anywhere in the world, one should never vote assuming a good choice will never win and so let’s vote for the lesser of two bad choices. That’s akin to having to choose between two menacing beasts and a man. The beasts are most likely to win. But there is a chance the man can win provided the necessary tools are made available. If you don’t make the right choice you choose to live with a monster. If you make the right choice, you give yourself a chance at a better life.

Your vote is important in giving yourself a chance to have something better. Your vote as an individual isn’t about defeating someone you don’t agree with a lot by choosing someone else you don’t agree with. If you vote based on that decision, you’re the only one at a loss.
